2016: The Year of the Races

Looking ahead to the upcoming year, I know I won't be able to run all the races I did last year.  This is a little disappointing as there are a few that I really enjoyed doing in the past which will either be right at the end of my pregnancy or just there after. However, I hope to run as long as possible.  With Liv I ran into my fifth month but then my belly started to get in the way.  I am trying my best to be more careful this time around as to not put on so much weight so fast.  Anyways, I am proud of all the races I ran in 2016, especially three 1/2 marathons.  So here is a quick recap.

Mike's Seafood Polar Bear 5k - Feb 14, 2016
23:30

This race was a week before my first 1/2 marathon and I had been sick and not training for a few days so I thought a quick race was just what I needed to prepare.  Little did I know it was going to be 4 degrees that day.
Disney Princess 1/2 Marathon - Feb 21, 2016
First 1/2 Marathon in the books 2:12:23
 St. Pat's Boardwalk 5k - March 16, 2017
Apparently no pics were taken since this was another cold and windy day but I ran 23:53

 Memorial Beach Challenge - May 28, 2016
Obstacle course run on the beach

Ocean City Police Chase 5k - June 11, 2016
28:07 Pushing Liv in the stroller

Run the Vineyards - Summer Scurry for Sangria 5k - June 25, 2016
25:44
This race was held at Hawk Haven Winery at sunset which made it incredible hot but absolutely loved the atmosphere and who doesn't like relaxing with cheese and wine afterward.

OCNJ 1/2 Marathon - Sept 25, 2016
2:02:39
We had absolutely ideal running conditions. I was pumped to cut 10 mins off my time but disappointed that we were so close but over the 2 hour mark.

Atlantic City 1/2 Marathon - Oct 23, 2016
01:55:08
I trained properly to guarantee a sub two hour half and it was a success.  This was the best I've felt running  in all of 2016.

Rocky Balboa 10 Miler - Nov 10, 2016
1:25:27
And this was the hardest race of 2016. I thought I would feel great just coming off my best race but my legs were tired from the 2 hills and I struggled. However I found out the very next morning I was pregnant so maybe that had something to do with it.

The Fast and the Furriest 5k Turkey Trot - Nov 24, 2016
26:37 Pushing Liv in the stoller
Woke up Thanksgiving morning and it was a gorgeous day for a run so I signed up.  I hope this race becomes a family tradition.
