Weddings, Races & More

Last weekend feels like a blur. We kicked it off on Thursday by getting pampered at the nail salon for my baby sister's wedding.  Who wouldn't want to start their day with manicures, pedicures and champagne?  After a quick lunch we sat outside and took advantage of the PERFECT September weather before it was rehearsal time.

Friday was the big day and it was 87 degrees and sunny. A picture perfect day for a wedding.

Liv didn't attend the reception and by this picture I think she was just as happy to be at the beach with her aunt.
The night was a total success.  We surprised my sister with a small Beauty & The Beast skit before the father/daughter dance since their song was Tale as Old as Time.  When we were little, my sister and dad would pretend to be Beauty and the Beast and dance around our bedroom at night before bed.

Saturday morning we all gathered at my parents again to recount the night before.  I wanted a do-over since it flew by so quickly. We mostly spent the day in pajamas reminiscing.

And if the weekend hadn't been hectic enough, I planned to run a 1/2 marathon Sunday morning.

Best time yet 2:02.39
I had some of the best cheerleaders who rode all over the course when they weren't in the arcade playing.

And why not keep the fun going?  So after the race we posted up on the beach to watch the air show.

Finally, after naps for both Liv and myself, we capped off the night walking the boardwalk.

Liv - 18 Months

It blows my mind that Liv will be a year and a half on Sunday.  My baby no longer looks like a baby.

Features: Her hair has gotten so blond from the sun this summer and she is tanner than I could ever try to be.

Sleep: Liv sleeps 10-11 hours at night and takes one 2 hour nap during the day. When I really tire her out she will sleep 3+ hours but that entails me tiring myself out as well.

Eating: This past month I have witnessed much less food consumption than in months prior.  I attribute this to her unending teeth.  However, she still loves her Baba so much so that she flaps her arms in excitement every time she sees it.  She primarily eats fruits and veggies.  Meat is very hit or miss. Raisins are a favorite.  My girl loves to sip on "tea" aka green tea lemonade with me in the morning on my days off.

Diapers: Still rocking size 4

Clothing: Mostly 18 months.  The pants are usually too big in the waist but the tops fit just perfectly. We have moved to size 5 shoes.

Words: Liv repeats everything these days, especially the last word of your sentence.  This weeks words on repeat are Salsa and Turtle.

Likes: Buckles & Dolls - All dollies have to be naked and any buckle she can find she wants to clip closed.  Don't be in a rush to get in or out of the car b/c she will throw a fit if she can't buckle her car seat.

Activities: Two weeks ago Liv started whistling and hasn't stopped since.  Also, we are starting the potty training process since she is now telling me when she has gone.

Happy Labor Day Weekend!
